Dorothy Jones, Ph.D. is a Patent Agent in the Chemical practice group, focusing on patent preparation and prosecution for domestic and international clients. Her expertise includes a range of technical areas including organic synthesis, materials characterization, optically active materials, dyes, glass products, plastics, polymers, and product formulation.
Prior to joining Oblon, Dr. Jones was a Research Scientist at a bio-tech start-up in New York, where she worked on small molecule synthesis, dye chemistry, and formulation development. During her graduate studies, Dorothy synthesized polymers and small molecules and studied the effects of the synthetic products on the shape of organic microcrystals and how the shape influenced the crystals’ electronic and photonic properties.
