Alexander B. Englehart is a registered patent attorney serving as Of Counsel in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. He works on all areas of patent litigation in U.S. district courts, the ITC, and the USPTO. In addition, he provides legal opinions to help clients preemptively manage their risk as they develop new products and services.  He also prosecutes patent applications for the firm’s Electrical/Mechanical Practice Group.

Mr. Englehart litigates cases involving a wide range of technologies, including mobile devices, wireless networking, sporting goods, automotive parts, metallurgy, and cosmetics.  Mr. Englehart also advises clients on the interrelationship between district court, ITC, and post-grant proceedings at the USPTO.  His cases often involve high-stakes litigation in conjunction with post-grant proceedings.  He has also represented clients in intellectual property disputes at industry trade shows.

During law school, Mr. Englehart served as a judicial extern for Judge Randall Rader of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Magistrate Judge Bernard Zimmerman of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.  He has lectured on ITC practice at the University of Washington’s Center for Advanced Study and Research on Innovation Policy and to the Japanese Intellectual Property Association.  He is currently based in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.
