Oblon is honored to welcome back Professor Elizabeth Winston from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America. Professor Winston is a frequent speaker on a variety of intellectual property topics at conferences around the country.  She earned her J.D. at the University of Virginia School of Law, and an S.B. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  Two clerkships followed upon her graduation, including one with the Honorable Paul R. Michel, former chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Professor Winston will be presenting another series of lectures on Patent Law as part of Oblon’s International Guest Program.  The lectures cover Patent Law from A to Z, or from patentable subject matter, to conditions for patentability, to infringement, to remedies.  “We are very fortunate to have Professor Winston as part of our team for over 10 years,” said Philippe Signore, Managing Partner.  “We take our International Guest Program very seriously, with weekly group lectures by Professor Winston; one-on-one lectures by our attorneys, working sessions with our practitioners, including interviews with USPTO examiners, visits to local courts, many social and cultural events, as well as a full-time coordinator who helps with logistics such as immigration issues and housing.”

For more than 30 years, Oblon has hosted an International Guest Program that has welcomed hundreds of professionals from around the world to work at the firm on a temporary basis and learn about the U. S. patent system. “We build mutually beneficial relationships with our clients, who learn about our firm, our culture and our patent system,” said Aya Sollar, the Firm’s International Guest Coordinator.
